6 Months - Half a Year

I can not believe you are 6 months old already. What a great month it has been! You tried your first food: bananas. I'm not really sure how much of it made it into your mouth, but you had fun trying it out.

Not everything went your way this month and you let us know about it. One thing we know about you is that you express yourself!

Here comes that first tooth. I think I may see another one trying to make it's way out. Will it be one or two? All I know is that you have been drooling EVERYWHERE.

"Look Mom, I have feet!" You discovered your feet this month.

First Christmas

Merry Christmas, baby. We celebrated our first Christmas with many celebrations. We started our festivities at Papa and Nana's house on Christmas Eve. Your uncles, aunts, and cousins were all there. Your cousins couldn't wait to give you your presents and watch you open them.

The next morning we had our Christmas at home. We started by eating cinnamon rolls for Jesus' birthday and then Daddy read the Christmas story from the Bible. After that, you and Brother opened your presents. (Okay, Mommy and Daddy opened your presents.)

Later that morning Grandpa and Grandma came over to video chat with Uncle Chris, Aunt Stacy, and Heather and then to open presents. You loved the hat Aunt Stacy made you!

For lunch we went to the nursing home to have Christmas with Granny and Grandma's side of the family. You had fun just sitting in Granny's lap watching everyone running around.

5 Month Old

What an exciting month! Your first Thanksgiving! We enjoyed the day with family. We went to the nursing home to visit Granny and spend time with family and then we went to Nana and Papa's for supper.

You have been busy this month also. You are now a sitter and you are pulling up on your hands and knee, the beginnings of crawling. I think your brother likes to see you able to do more and more. He can't wait to play with you. You are still a drool monster but no teeth have made their appearance yet.

This month you got your first boo boo. You hit your head on the coffee table and it bruised up pretty good. Also, you have started have a strange reaction when you are nursing sometimes. Half of your face will turn red - right down the middle. Dr. Conner thinks it may be a slight circulation problem, but nothing to worry about.

Look at the face!

4 Months

This month has been exciting to watch you grow so much. You weigh 13.4 lbs. and are 251/2 inches long.

You have become the drool monster this month. All your onesies are socked by the end of the day. Are you teething already? We will see. You are also still rolling all over the place and we are working on sitting up. Mommy places you in your bobby pillow to help you get your balance.

3 Months Old

You are getting to be such a big man. You weigh 13 lbs. and 21 1/2 inches long. This month you have smiled more and more. We have got you to laugh a couple of times, but you are not big on it yet. You love to smile at everyone though. This month you have also become an expert roller. I even put your play mat up because you just kept rolling right off of it. Now we just lay a blanket out on the floor and let you roll all over the place. This week we got out your round play seat. You are still a little small for it, but we put a blanket in there with you. You love it! You LOVE to sit up!

This month you have really started looking around and focusing on things. You will turn to people when they talk to you and sometimes you act like you know your name.  You love to be outside and like to hear people talking or singing to you. Grasping my hair is one of your favorite activities! This month you have also discovered your feet.

You had you first overnight stay at Nana’s house this month. Mommy and Daddy went out of town for a conference and you and Elijah spent the day and night at Nana’s. The next day you got to spend a little time at Grandma’s house. They both loved you being there!

You also starting CBS this month. Right now you are just being loved on every Wednesday morning while Mommy and brother are in our classes. Hopefully, as the years pass you will get to attend classes yourself and learn about God.

We can’t wait to see what this next month brings us! We love you!

Busy Week

Isaiah, you have had a busy week this week. First of all, Mrs. Krista came over this week to take you and brother's pictures. Then, in just a couple of days you have learned to turn yourself over from your back to your belly (while throwing a major tantrum), rejecting your pacifier because you have discovered your thumb, and the other night while giving you a bath I saw a little blood in your mouth which means you are getting your first tooth. WOW! WHAT A WEEK! I am afraid the turning over might be finished for a while since you are not throwing as many tantrums since learning to suck your thumb. Oh, well.

You after you had rolled over from your back to your belly.

My favorite picture Mrs. Krista took of you.

2 Month Checkup

2 Month Checkup

You recently went for your two month checkup. The first of many dreaded appointments where you get shots. I will never forget the look on your face when you realized the first shot had occurred. You went from peacefully sucking on your pacifier to beet red face, pacifier falling out of your mouth and blood curdling screams being released. Poor thing! You got over it pretty quick though.

You weighed 11 lbs and were 21 inches long at this appointment.  Dr. Conner said you were looking good. Two more months and more shots to come.

First Smile, First Bath, First Vacation and First Visit from Maine

The past few weeks have been very busy for you, little guy. Aunt Stacy, Uncle Chris, and Cousin Heather came to visit you from Maine. They were here for 2 1/2 weeks. While they were here, we went on a little vacation to Holly Ranch Lake. This was your first one. We were go, go, go...

 - go out to eat
 - go to the Dairy Museum
 - go to Brookshires Wildlife Museum
 - go swimming
 - go to Tyler shopping
 - go to the playground
 - go to Tiger Creek Tiger Refuge

The weekend we returned from Holly Ranch Lake, you, Mommy, Daddy and Elijah headed to Houston to cheer our friend, Wylie, on in the Transplant Olympics of America. He was entered in several swimming events and even won two silver medals. It was a busy weekend. You did really well in the car though, and spent most of the weekend asleep or pretending to be asleep. On the way back from Houston, you gave us your first real smile.

When we got home from Houston, it was time to say goodbye to Aunt Stacy and Cousin Heather. We were sorry to see them go.  Also, it was time for you to get your first real bath. Up until this point, you were being sponge bathed.

What a couple of weeks we had, but we wouldn't have missed it for the world.

Through the Month

One Month Old

Today is your one month old birthday. You weigh 9.2 lbs and are 22 1/2 inches long. You are sleeping about six hours straight at night. You have red hair and blue eyes. Over the last week you have become very alert and watch everything. You are staying awake more during the day which Mommy hopes leads to you sleeping more at night.

You have brought much change to our home. Mommy is trying to remember all the little things that babies like and dislike. We are trying to learn what all your little cries mean. And, Elijah is adjusting to having another little one in the house.

You are already changing so much and we want to capture every moment of your little life.
